Any failure in steps 1–3 triggers immediate lot rejection without further inspection.

🔍 Bright‑line rule: If major defects exceed 1.2% of sample size (AQL 0.65), the entire batch is rejected and a SCAR issued to supplier.
Our Counterfeit Detection Arsenal
- High‑magnification microscopy (30–100×): Reveals sanding, re‑marking, ghosting, flux residue, and abnormal surface texture.
- X‑Ray inspection: Verifies die presence, bond wire layout, and voiding. We maintain a golden sample library for instant comparison.
- C‑SAM (Scanning Acoustic Microscopy): Detects internal delamination and cracks invisible to X‑ray – crucial for moisture‑sensitive or reworked components.
- JTAG ID verification: Reads hardware‑fused device IDCODE – impossible to counterfeit.
- Destructive decapsulation: Used on suspicious batches to expose the bare die and verify manufacturer logo, die revision, and consistency.

Nonconforming Material Disposition
- Immediate segregation and red NC tag, moved to locked quarantine area.
- Quality Engineer re‑inspection before final decision.
- Disposition options: Return to vendor (RTV), exchange, or sort & use only with signed Engineering approval.
- Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) or 8D within 48 hours. Corrective action verified on next three incoming lots.
Device‑Specific Focus
- ICs / BGA: X‑ray (die verification), C‑SAM, JTAG ID, decap if suspicious.
- Passives (R/C/L): LCR measurement, withstand voltage for capacitors.
- Connectors / Switches: Insertion force, contact resistance (4‑wire Kelvin).
- MSD (Moisture‑Sensitive Devices): Vacuum seal check, HIC reading, MSL label verification.
Traceability & Documentation
- Photographs of suspicious parts, labels, and defects saved in batch archive.
- 5–10 golden samples retained from first shipment or batch change.
- Minimum log: receiving date, PO, lot number, inspector, result, defect photos, disposition.
